CALL OUT FOR 2026-2027 NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Nominating Committee 2026-2027 will be seeking three Members-at- large who are ready, willing and able to serve on this year’s Nominating Committee for the 2027-28 Board of Directors.
The Committee’s work is extremely important to ensure the continuation of a strong Board of Directors who will represent the best interests of Members. During the next three months, we will be:
-
Soliciting qualified candidates for the Board to be elected at the Annual Special Meeting of Voting Members scheduled for February 2, 2027;
-
Evaluating those candidates in light of the needs of the Club; and
-
Making recommendations to the Board.
Any person who has been a Member of the Club for at least three years and who is in good standing may be on the Nominating Committee.

A Nominating Committee member is not eligible to be nominated or elected as a Director in February, nor may Nominating Committee members (except for the Chair) have served on the Nominating Committee in any of the previous three (3) years.

Members of the Nominating Committee will need to be available to conduct interviews of Board candidates during the first two weeks of October, 2026.

If you are interested in serving on the Nominating Committee, please contact Paul Morrell, our Board Secretary, Chief Operating Officer/General Manager, by email at pmorrell@boulevardclub.com, before Monday, July 27, 2026.
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
FAMILY CHANGE ROOM LOCKERS
We have been noticing that a number of day-use lockers in the Family Change Rooms (East and West Wings) and in the East Wing Men’s Change Room are currently missing their keys. These lockers are provided for all members to use on a daily basis and are not intended for ongoing personal storage.
Many day lockers may be being used beyond their intended purpose, with personal items being stored inside and keys being taken off-site. To ensure these lockers remain available and accessible for all members, we are asking anyone who is currently using a day locker for extended storage to please remove all personal belongings and return the key to the locker lock.

After Thursday, August 6 8pm any remaining items will be removed and discarded and the locks will be changed to restore access for all members.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our facilities fair and available for everyone.

BILLY BISHOP AIRPORT EXPANSION
On Tuesday May 26th , The Boulevard Club attended an ‘Emergency Town Hall’ held at the Argonaut Rowing Club regarding the Billy Bishop Airport Expansion.
Of note:
-
The Billy Bishop Airport expansion will move forward unless the federal government intervenes. Aviation is a federal issue. In 2015, the federal Liberal government halted a planned expansion of the Island airport and they can again.
-
If you feel you would like your voice heard, here’s what you can do: Write to your federal MP.. Here in Parkdale—High Park, that’s Karim Bardeesy: bardeesy@parl.gc.ca
If you wish you can sign official online petitions opposing the expansion of Billy Bishop Airport, such as the Government of Canada e-7404 Petition or the community-led Change.org Petition.
Additionally, the federal government is currently holding Public Consultations .
