CONSTRUCTION IMPACTS ON WATERCOURSE - New
Last week, several waterfront clubs in a meeting with Michael Robertson of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming were advised that the West Channel from Ontario Place will be closed off for 3 years commencing August 3, 2026 until March 15, 2029, to facilitate the construction associated with the redevelopment of Ontario Place.
As shown HERE, there will also be temporary closures of the West Channel should there be a severe weather event which causes the CSO to overflow. (These are expected up to 3x/yr.) and preemptive closures during FIFA games, if it turns out that a severe weather event is threatened during a game (as the Lake Shore Blvd is closed during the games, preventing access).

Starting June 15, the new Tennis Courts Hotline extension will change to 310. In the event of inclement weather, members can check court conditions by calling the Club and dialing 310, visiting the booking page, or contacting the Concierge team at ext. 0.

This summer, we’re bringing something new to the docks.
Learn to steer, balance, and harness the wind in real time. Build skills that are recognized beyond Canada and will open the door to sailing anywhere in the world.
CANSail is Sail Canada’s national learn-to-sail program, taught by certified instructors and recognized by World Sailing.
This hands-on program builds sailing skills in a safe, fun, and active environment, with plenty of time on the water. The updated CANSail 2.0 curriculum offers a balanced, progressive learning experience for all skill levels.

BILLY BISHOP AIRPORT EXPANSION - New
On Tuesday May 26th , The Boulevard Club attended an ‘Emergency Town Hall’ held at the Argonaut Rowing Club regarding the Billy Bishop Airport Expansion.
Of note:

The Billy Bishop Airport expansion will move forward unless the federal government intervenes. Aviation is a federal issue. In 2015, the federal Liberal government halted a planned expansion of the Island airport and they can again.

If you feel you would like your voice heard, here’s what you can do: Write to your federal MP.. Here in Parkdale—High Park, that’s Karim Bardeesy: bardeesy@parl.gc.ca
If you wish you can sign official online petitions opposing the expansion of Billy Bishop Airport, such as the Government of Canada e-7404 Petition or the community-led Change.org Petition.
Additionally, the federal government is currently holding Public Consultations .
